Bead Fest Philly is just around the corner

We're headed for Bead Fest Philly in just a two weeks!  It's their 10th anniversary.  I will be with my beading buddies, Fire Foxes Glass,  at Philly for our 5th year.  I can't believe how time flies!  If you'd like a free pass into the show send me an email and ll make sure you get one.  We'll be at Booth #210, there is a new location so really look at those directions.  Here is the class Kathleen is teaching this time around.  She's a great teacher and it's almost full so register now.

Gathering

Just got back from the Gathering.  It was a wonderful time, enjoyed rooming with my beady friends, Denise, Susan, and Kim, enjoyed all the knowledge gained at the demos, and the wonderful fellow beaders who are so generous with their information and friendship.  Just a great event! Also glad to be home.  Brought home some Buffalo Trace Kentucky bourbon for the hubby but it wouldn't be right to make him drink alone..... :)

Millenium M-20s are fueling my Mirage!

My Mirage set up at Unlimited Oxygen.

I just got back from Unlimited Oxygen in Indiana.   Jack and David were great!  I bought 2 M-20s and they upgraded my M-10 to an M-20.  We chained two M-20s for the outer flame and my upgraded M-10, now also an M-20, connected to the center flame.  The end result?  I have this beautiful flame!   Ricky, my hubby, no longer has to drag oxygen tanks up and down the stairs and I can actually use my outer flame all the time if I want!

Aaron and cow

Had the first relaxing day in a long time with my hubby and the youngest grandchild, Aaron.  Weather was in the 60s, some sun.  Went to Kensington Metropark, made two tours around the farm, one through the nature center and one of the shorter trails.  He probably walked two miles and had a great time.  He LOVES to be outside, everyday, all day. His mommy loves cows so I know this is her favorite pic.

I'm madly getting together packages for Pismo and Kittrell/Riffkind.  Kittrell/Riffkind's package was mailed last week.  If you live in Dallas, stop by in May to see animal bottle stoppers and an assortment of animal head beads for their "On the Wild Side" exhibit.  A similar package is going to Pismo Glass Art Invitational in Denver this week, also on exhibit through May.  Then I need to get an order off to Arts Afire in Arlington, VA which needs a refresher of my stuff.  Busy, busy, busy...

The Menagerie

Teaching at Tucson at the Best Bead Show (see below) along with my friend Kathleen Robinson. Will also have a booth under Fire Foxes Glass, our business name together.  As I'm getting the beads together, I just had to put them together.  Made me think of Noah's Ark. Christmas is for the kids

And now one more year is done.  Our grandchildren all had a wonderful Christmas.  They got along...for the most part.  Austin had a Star Wars year...everything he got was Star Wars which is what he's totally addicted to right now.  Jaiden is the dress-up girl.  She got a baby doll to dress up and 3 Disney Princess outfits and 3 work costumes so she can be a chef, a construction worker and a hair stylists (which is what she wants to be when she grows up.  And Aaron was so funny this year.  He's 2 1/2 and is smart as a whip though a little behind in vocalizing. This photo is of him wearing the dog's santa hat and beard.

The dog chewed up the squeak toy I gave her and there were two squeaky plastic inserts.  We put the plastic inserts in Aaron's socks and then sang "If you're happy and you know it"...I got stuck on the lyrics at one point and Ricky came up with the solution...you can see and hear the end result.  :)
