Beadfest Philly is done, Italy here we come!

Beadfest was both fun and a great success.  The Fire Foxes did great and Kathleen's classes were successful. We did good.

In less than three weeks Denise and I are going to Murano to take a class from Maestro Lucio Bubacco.  I'm both so excited and totally intimidated.  And even though I have confused feelings, one thing I know, I can't wait to have gelato EVERY DAY!

The Gathering!

Hi everyone,

I'll be at The Gathering, the biggest shindig of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers, from July 29th to August 1st.  This year it's in Rochester, NY.   The beads you see in my Etsy shop, and a whole lot more,  will be available for purchase at the Bead Bazaar at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center this Sat, July 31 from 10am-5pm.  Imagine actually touching them!  Hope to see you there!!!

In getting ready for this show, I made a really great gorilla and chimp face.  I'll try to get a picture up.  I absolutely love their expresssions.

Luminescent Butterfly

Finally spent some time getting some jewelry ready for a juried show.  Worked till 3am, fit it in between long work days, but got some nice stuff.  Here is one.  I'm currently enjoying making neck pieces that clasp in the front.  Also having fun making crocheted chains out of fine wire.  I just really love the organic look.

Finally domain name stuff resolved!

If you've been trying to find my web page, your persistence has paid off.  You're here!  I have been moving my site to Google's blogger due to the ease of posting and there are so many features to today's blog, I will hardly miss ftping to my own site! 

Anyway, couldn't get hypermart, my old webhost and owner of my domain to make the changes after MANY calls and chats.  So I finally transferred to godaddy and here we are!  I hope to keep this site more up-to-date! 

One thing I can fill you in on is that I'm going to Murano this September with my beading buddy, Denise Billups Walker, to take a class from Lucio Bubacco!  I'm so excited I can't see straight.  Nine weeks to Murano!

Etsy update

An elephant-ay and a hippo diva/fairy are now on my etsy site. I love the diva. For some reason I just love making the roly-poly chubby animals. I love making their flabulous rolls. Must be something that reminds me of my own.  :)  Still trying to figure out how to get Etsy to work right on Facebook.  And how to get this site setup correctly with my worksofjoy.com domain.  Ahhh...technology...love it most of the time.  Then there's the rest of the time!

Well, you've found it! This is my new blog site. It's so easy to setup a blog these days that I've abandoned hard-coded, ftped websites. Just doesn't make sense. As of today, this is very much a work in progress but hopefully won't take forever to update like my old site. So don't be too patient. Kick me in the seat of my pants and push me out the door!!!
